It only makes sense that adorable and ecologically friendly plush depicting Beatrix Potter`s famous characters would be developed, as Potter was one of the world`s first environmentalists, long before it was fashionable as it is today. In later life Potter settled in the English Lake District where she became a farmer on the land that she knew and loved (from childhood family holidays to that area). With the money she acquired from the sale of her books she was able to add to her estate. On her death in 1943 she bequeathed her farms and over 4,000 acres of land to the National Trust, England`s premier charity dedicated to conservation, heritage and learning, so that it should remain unspoilt forever.
